The Sri Lanka Association of New England (SLANE) was formed by about 50 Sri Lankans at the inaugural meeting held on September 26, 1998 at St. Peter’s parish hall, Cambridge, MA. Currently, our association is open to all Sri Lankans and friends of Sri Lankans living in New England.
The mission of the Sri Lanka Association of New England is to provide a forum for its membership to promote social, cultural, educational, and recreational activities, and to support charitable and other non-political endeavors to benefit Sri Lankan’s and friends of Sri Lanka living in the New England states in USA.
To foster friendship, goodwill, peace and unity among all Sri Lankans in Massachusetts and neighboring states.
SLANE has consistently delivered a core program of three organized events. The Discover Sri Lanka program in the spring for the youth, the summer event/cookout and the annual fundraiser Winter Ball Diner Dance to support our charitable endeavors, anchor our core programming for our members.
